Subtech AMF Panel - Auto Mains Failure Control Panel
Overview

What is an AMF Panel?

An AMF panel is the device that stands between a power failure and a crisis.

When the grid goes down, the panel detects the outage within milliseconds, sends the start signal to your diesel generator, waits for stable voltage and frequency, and transfers your entire load from mains to generator. When grid power returns, it transfers back and shuts the DG down cleanly after a cool-down period.

No phone calls. No manual switching. No operator standing by at 2am.

For hospitals, server rooms, water pumps, cold storage, ATM networks, and production lines, this is not a convenience. It is a non-negotiable operational requirement.

Subtech has been manufacturing AMF panels since 1998. Every panel leaves our Greater Noida facility load-tested and documented. We use branded components throughout: Schneider, Siemens, and L&T contactors; Deep Sea and ComAp controllers; Omron relays. No substitutions. No compromises on components to hit a price point.

Our panels are specified by NTPC, DMRC, Delhi Jal Board, UP Jal Nigam, and 200+ industrial and government clients who cannot afford to gamble on an untested panel.

Key Benefits

Why this matters for your facility

Fully Automatic. No Human Required.

Mains fails. DG starts. Load transfers. Mains returns. Load transfers back. DG stops. The entire sequence runs without a single human action. Your facility stays powered whether your staff is present or not.

Transfer in Under 10 Seconds

From grid failure to energised DG load in under 10 seconds. Well within the hold-up time of hospital UPS systems and data centre infrastructure. Slower panels cost you more than just inconvenience.

Your Generator is Protected Too

Low oil pressure, high coolant temperature, over-speed, and over-crank shutdowns are standard. If your generator develops a fault during an unattended night-time outage, the panel shuts it down before damage occurs.

Remote Monitoring Ready

Standard RS485 Modbus output. Optional GSM, SMS alert, Ethernet, and BMS integration. Monitor your DG status, runtime hours, fault history, and fuel consumption from any location.

Branded Components. Documented and Traceable.

Contactors from Schneider, Siemens, or L&T. Controllers from Deep Sea or ComAp. Relays from Omron. Wiring to IS 8623. Every component is named and traceable. No unbranded substitutes.

Support Across India. Not Just at Point of Sale.

220+ dealers and service partners nationwide. On-site commissioning available. Standard 12-month warranty extendable to 24 months. If you have a problem six months after installation, you can still reach us.

Who Uses This

Where Subtech panels are deployed

Hospitals and Nursing Homes

Operating theatres, ICUs, ventilators, and pharmacy cold storage cannot tolerate even a 30-second gap. AMF plus DG is mandatory under most state hospital licensing regulations.

Banks and ATM Networks

RBI mandates uninterrupted ATM operation. A branch DG that requires manual starting is a liability at 3am. Subtech AMF panels ensure the generator fires automatically at any hour without staff intervention.

Factories and Manufacturing Plants

A production-line restart after an uncontrolled power cut costs far more than the panel. Continuous-process industries including food, pharma, and plastics cannot afford the gap.

Telecom Towers and Data Centres

Rural tower sites across India face four to eight hours of grid outage daily. Unattended AMF plus DG is the only viable solution. Our panels run for months without a site visit.

Water Utilities and Pumping Stations

UP Jal Nigam, Delhi Jal Board, and gram-panchayat water schemes use Subtech AMF panels to maintain continuous pumping through grid outages.

Commercial Buildings and Malls

Lifts, fire pumps, common-area lighting, and security systems must run on backup power. AMF ensures compliance with building fire-safety regulations.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an ATS panel and an AMF panel?
An ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) only switches the load between two power sources that are both already running. An AMF panel does that plus it also starts and stops the diesel generator automatically. AMF = ATS + DG control logic.
How fast does the AMF panel transfer load?
From the moment grid fails to the moment your building is fed from the DG, the typical end-to-end time is 7-10 seconds. The DG itself takes 3-5 seconds to start and stabilise, and the contactor changeover is under 1 second.
What size of generator can the AMF panel handle?
Our standard AMF panels handle DG sets from 15 kVA up to 2000 kVA.
Do you supply the DG with the AMF panel?
No. Subtech specialises in the AMF panel itself. We work alongside your DG dealer and can either be supplied loose for their commissioning team or shipped with our own engineer for joint commissioning.
What is the lead time for a custom AMF panel?
Standard ratings (63A-800A) ship in 7-10 working days. Above 800A or with synchronisation, lead time is 15-21 days.
Can the AMF panel be monitored remotely?
Yes. Every panel ships with a Deep Sea or ComAp controller that supports RS485 Modbus. We offer GSM/SMS notification, Ethernet/BMS integration.
