ACCL Panel
When the DG starts, the ACCL automatically sheds non-essential loads to stay within the generator's capacity, protecting the DG from overload and keeping your sanctioned-load consumption in check.
Most Indian residential and commercial consumers have a sanctioned load from the DISCOM. When the grid goes down and the DG starts, the DG has a smaller capacity than the mains supply. Without load management, the DG overloads and trips. The ACCL solves both problems automatically.

What is an ACCL and Why Do You Need One?
ACCL stands for Automatic Changeover with Current Limiter. It performs two functions simultaneously: it automatically switches your electrical load from the grid to the generator when the mains supply fails, and it continuously monitors the total current being drawn and automatically sheds lower-priority loads if the current exceeds the set limit.
In India, most DISCOM connections come with a sanctioned load — the maximum current you are authorised to draw. Many consumers are unaware of this until they see an unexpected spike in their electricity bill.
The bigger problem arises when the grid fails and a generator takes over. A generator rated for 5 kVA cannot power a 7 kW load. It will overload and trip, cutting power to everything.
Subtech ACCL panels are used in residential apartments, small offices on commercial tariff, ATMs with dedicated DG sets, and telecom shelters.
Why this matters for your facility
DG Never Overloads and Trips.
The moment the DG starts, the ACCL checks the total load and sheds anything above the DG's rated capacity.
Stay Within Sanctioned Load. No Penalty.
The current limiter function monitors your total draw against the DISCOM sanctioned load.
Load Priority: You Decide What Stays On.
You define which loads are priority 1 (always on), priority 2, priority 3, and priority 4 (shed first).
Automatic Transfer. No Manual Switching.
Mains fails, ACCL transfers to DG in sub-cycle time. Mains returns, ACCL transfers back.
Protects Against kVAh Billing Spike.
The ACCL's current limiter prevents reactive load spikes that inflate your kVAh reading.
Status Display. Know What Is On.
The ACCL front panel shows the current reading, mains/DG status, and which load priority levels are active.
Where Subtech panels are deployed
Residential Apartments with Sanctioned-Load Contracts
A flat with 3 kW sanctioned load and two air conditioners cannot run both ACs simultaneously. The ACCL manages this.
Small Offices on Commercial Tariff
Commercial tariff consumers pay a demand charge based on peak current. The ACCL caps the peak.
Shops with Limited DG Capacity
A shop with a 2 kVA DG and 5 kW of load cannot run everything during grid outage. The ACCL keeps essentials running.
ATMs with Dedicated Generator
An ATM's dedicated 3 kVA DG is sized for the ATM computer, display, UPS, and lighting.
Telecom Shelters with Limited DG kVA
Telecom shelter DGs are typically sized only for critical BTS and active equipment.
Petrol Pumps and Small Industrial Units
Petrol pumps on 10 kVA sanctioned load running dispensers, lighting, and a small AC.
ACCL Variants
Available in single-phase and three-phase configurations.
Single-Phase ACCL
For residential and small commercial single-phase connections.
Get quoteThree-Phase ACCL
For commercial and small industrial three-phase connections.
Get quoteACCL with Load Priority Programming
Field-programmable ACCL where the four load priority levels can be assigned by the installer.
Get quoteACCL + Auto Mains Failure Combined
Combines ACCL current limiting with full AMF logic: starts the DG, transfers load, sheds non-essential loads.

Why Subtech for ACCL
Sub-Cycle Transfer. No Blink.
The ACCL transfers load in under 20 milliseconds. Computers do not restart, lights do not flicker.
Field-Adjustable Current Limit
The current limit can be set on-site without returning to the factory.
